Los Angeles: It is a good day for “Friends” fans who have been waiting for a reunion to happen for a long time. The beloved sitcom’s cast is finally doing a reunion!

The “Friends” cast is reuniting on their old network next month for a two-hour special that pays tribute to veteran sitcom director James Burrows, who recently helmed his 1,000th TV episode.

NBC made the announcement at the Television Critics Association s press tour in Pasadena, California.
Burrows, who directed 15 “Friends” episodes as well as a number of other comedy favourites like “Taxi”, “Cheers”, “Frasier” and “Will & Grace”, recently wrapped the 1,000th episode of television he has filmed in his career, reported E!Online.

“I’m hoping that all six of them will be in the same room at the same time, but I’m not sure of that,” Greenblatt said of the Friends cast. “I’m not sure if we can logistically pull that off. But I think it’s safe to say that all six of them will be there.”

Previous efforts have been unsuccessful, with at least one cast member resisting a reunion behind the scenes.

The special show is slated to be broadcast on February 21.

The two-hour special show will be most notable for getting Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer all together for the first time since “Friends” ended in 2004, having run for 10 seasons from 1994.

The sitcom followed six adults in their mid-20s trying to navigate work, life and love in Manhattan, became one of NBC’s most-watched shows and has appeared on lists of the greatest TV shows in history
