New Delhi: An FIR was filed against popular comedian-actor Kapil Sharma under environment protection act and MRTP act for destroying mangroves in Versova, Mumbai.
The Andheri court has directed Versova police to register a case against him under section 187 of the Indian Penal code for alleged violation of the Environment Act.
The comedian has been booked for allegedly dumping the debris near mangroves behind his bungalow.

Kapil had kicked up a controversy a few months back by alleging that he had been asked to pay a bribe of Rs 5 lakh by an official of BMC, which claimed that the actor had flouted norms not only in his Versova office building but also at his apartment in suburban Goregaon.
‘The Kis Kisko Pyar Karun’ actor had also tagged PM Modi in his tweet which read, “I am paying Rs 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay Rs 5 lakhs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi .”
